October 15, 2009—12 people were arrested in an act of civil disobedience in front of Blue Cross Headquarters in downtown Los Angeles. One of the organizers, Sam Pullen, 31, refused to give information to police, vowing to stay in jail until Blue Cross stops denying care to those who need it most. The demonstration "Patients before Profits" is supported by Mobilization for Health Care for All, which coordinated sit-ins in 9 cities where 54 people were arrested. Get involved! Stay tuned for the next installment. For more information or to join or donate, visit http://mobilizeforhealthcare.org/. Produced by Lyn Goldfarb in association with Ramblin' Man Films. • whats funny is that this protest should of been televised.. though there were 9 demonstartions around the country.. its weird how here in LA they refused to televise.. instead a ballon with a kid in it..[which was obviously a hoax] in colorado

was replaced with the air time...censorship....

  • This is just the beginning. These corporate criminals will not be able to stop reform this time. Though I should say they can get help from a few Senate Democrat traitors. But even in those circumstances, it would only be temporary because this movement won't go away until we get profits out of the healthcare system.

  • I beleive that what I saw in this video is true courage and on target. Make your demands heard! FIGHT! DEMAND! Demand in every way you can! Do it now, or it might never happen! Raise your voices. Make yourselves unignorable by the media and Congress. Be persistent. History is rarely made by those who follow the rules, and trust me, the aristocrats dont follow them either.

Best wishes to those who have the strength and courage to fight for what is right.

  • And cops wonder why everybody hates them...

  • They shut down the entire freaking building because of a protest? These corporate criminals are really too much. Isn't it bad enough that they're killing people for profit margins and "bonuses"?

  • thank you for protesting like this. blue cross and their ilk or horrible scum.

  • I was gonna say "I'd love to see the tea-baggers show their commitment by getting arrested", but then I remembered how fond the tea-baggers are of their guns... Too many people have died because of the failed sick for profit-system America has...

  • Great video. Like you, I too go to demonstrations ready to produce a video to communicate to other Americans the importance of protest and citizen action.

I look forward to more great work.

  • I guess police don't need healh care.
