@heyscenestersheyhey If you think all they wrote is catchy pop love songs then you've not listened to their discography properly, songs like I'm Only Sleeping are definitely not poppy love longs. Also, no Beatles means there would be no Smiths, like it or not The Beatles are one of the most influential bands the UK has produced.

@heyscenestersheyhey I'd have to say that I disagree with your statement about the Beatles' lyrics. The Smiths have more direct lyrics while the Beatles wrote songs that required a bit more analysis. Both bands are extremely talented, but I don't believe you can compare the two, for they have different perceptions of how music should be created.

The Smiths are and always will be the best band britain has produced. Far better than the Beatles- Morrissey's lyrics actually spoke about his feelings and others could realte them. The Beatles music is amazing don't get me wrong, but the lyrics were never honest and relatable. They made catchy pop love songs.
