CHAN:
An innovation on Indian streets. The first electric car made by an Indian company premiered on the roads of Bangalore Tuesday.
It marked the start of a nationwide Indian Climate Solutions Road Tour, aimed at youth to raise awareness about global climate change.
REVA cars, as theyre called, are powered by the next generation lithium ion batteries.
[Chetan Maini, REVA Electric Car Company]: (VERY END OF INTERVIEW)
"They have solar cells that directly charge batteries plus they have energy management system that enhances the car's range from 150 to 200 kilometers."
Bangalore-based REVA Electric Car Company rolls out 800 electric vehicles a year. Theyre currently exporting the cars to ten countries.
Its a horrible car. In UK, its marketed as G-Wiz. Check out the reviews by BBC. Not good.

Heh.. couldn't help but think of Disneyland.
But seriously, probably better than getting wet on a rainy day on a motorcycle. Good for commuting to work and back... unless that 18 wheel rig doesn't see you...
Tesla Motors FTW!
