what did you use for capturing the video? I tried patching ffmpeg and using that but it is choppy and xvidcap crashes.

istanbul is what i used to record it.

sudo apt-get install -y istanbul

When I start beryl it gets rid of my desktop background. I noticed that you didn't have that problem and I have heard a lot of people are.  If you had this problem and fixed it I would love to know how.

Yea it took me a good 7 clean installs of Ubuntu to make my damn drivers work! Stupid ATI needs to make their drivers open source! Nvidia and ATI were actually thinking about doing that.

I can understand that I recently built beryl apon loading it crashes xserver so it still has issues im sure it will be stable enough by the time of release of edgy. They are also working on a automatix "bleeder" that will have video drivers for ati, nvidia and beryl there is a beta posted, for those that don't want to wait.

Yea, I figured out how to do 3d desktop, my main problem was my video card's drivers wouldn't work. But I finally got them working. 3d desktop wasn't quite what i was expecting... kind of disappointing... but I hear beryl is supposed to come as one of the packages with the final release of edgy. So i'll just wait for that.

the opening part is a program called 3d desktop you can get it by entering sudo apt-get install 3ddesktop in a terminal. Beryl on the other hand is a bit tricky, I suggest you search beryl on ubuntu forums im sure there is a how to.
