This December the world will meet in Copenhagen, Denmark to forge a new international protocol that will map our common climate future beyond Kyoto which expires in 2012. People from around the world are calling for their governments to work toward an effective, fair and binding global agreement in Copenhagen. Climate change is happening at an accelerated pace and we need strong, scientifically based, and immediate cuts in carbon emissions by 2020 and beyond to avoid dangerous levels that will affect our health, economy, infrastructure, water, ecosystems, food and coasts. The outcomes of Copenhagen will shape the type of world that we will live in and its time to start the conversation among ourselves and bring our voices together!

Hello Dan,
I applaud your commitment to the environment. I enjoyed meeting you in my office alongside two of your colleagues. Liberals agree with you that Copenhagen demands a real commitment to fighting climate change. Its Canadas international reputation and the future of the planet that are on the line. Providing leadership and vision at Copenhagen, as well as ensuring the world reaches consensus should be a major international priority.
