My dad had this cd, the dirty old alcoholic:) Turned out just like him, up here in Holland the entire nabourhood is an alcoholic where i live, they even drink methylated spirit. They throw this green powder on it and all the poisen go's to the surface. They take it out and then it's drinkable, because strong drinks doesnt even work anymore. There's evebn a village up north from here were the people are misformed from generations of alcohol abuse that's no joke.

My Dad had to sing this to my Mum, as they married. She was pregnant with me, but they had a great party. My Dad forgot the Songtext, because he was drunk as fuck. My Mum & Dad are divorced now, but he told me tht story once.

Since that Moment, I loved this song as I never loved a song.. Wow.

@sakuteme Actually it was written by Ewan MaColl a Salford native. It could refer to many old British towns especially old mining towns but MaColl wrote it with Salford in mind.
