Journalist Jane Moore examines how much food we're really eating and puts the spotlight on the food industry to reveal what effect our increased dining-out habit is having on our health.

Moore takes a group of children undercover to find out just how much fat is on the menu for kids in Britain's favourite family restaurants. She meets a family who insist that despite eating healthily and exercising they seem unable to shift their excess weight.

With the help of a fridge-cam and a little secret surveillance, Dispatches attempts to unearth the root cause of their problem. The programme also features a company boss who insists his genes make him fat and the belly-dancer who cannot shake the idea that her metabolism is to blame for her weight gain.

  • wow i cant believe that the food in pizza hut has THAT much calories. 2000 something for a main course?!! isnt that like more than a whole days worth? is it just a very big portion...? or....

  • 'Even when I eat I strill don't loose weight'... What absolute crap. Simply do a Ketogenic diet whereby you restrict carbohydrates to under 30g a day with your primary source of fuel being fat (yes fat - but healthier fats preferably). This way your body goes into ketosis and burns FAT as its primary fuel. Humans do not need carbohydrates at all.

    watch 'On living longer' about the okinawa diet, then get a wok lol. workout for 2-4 minutes (called Tabata) once or twice a day to speed up metabolism. drink lots of water. that's all you need to know.

    i did that for the last year and am lazy as hell and a bit of a pig, but i have a six pack and look like a champ.
