  • Having been a working student at Tempel I can assure that these horses are WELL cared for and are not stressed. Grant it, the training is still in progress for some of these stallions, but it is not forced. One must understand that a classic baroque style horse, such as a Lipizzan, does not, will not and should not look like the warmbloods dominating the competitive dressage arenas of current day. What most people are use to seeing one will not see with these horses because of the build.

  • i dont think anyone who cannot do these amazing manouvers can say its not art, the amount of time care and dedication these people have taken and the trust betwen the horse and people is increadible to enable them to perform like this, i am impressed and could only dream of teaching horse to do this! dressage actually comes from a term to train, i believe this is training the the highest standard, anyone who says this is not dreaage is not watching the same video as i!

  • @claoufaeng true. the question is why a non trained horse is taken to the performance of haute ecole. Anothe question is why the first horse in handled by one person only? single rider performing caprioles on the long rein is usuually done with fully trained horses... I could ask some more questions, but I'll just let it be. I know my critique is harsh, but I do tend to be oldfashioned in these matters... Horses as such are great though.

  • @Lipicanci You're right, but only because they've not finished training.

  • @Musesasj Well said! That, and many of these moves are difficult to pull off

  • So cute.

  • Sorry, but here not much is executed correctly. Beautifull horses, beautifull outfit and music make the performance, not the perfection of horses' knowledge. Go to Vienna (Aut), go to Jerez de la Frontera (Esp), go to Lipica (SLO). And compare. Horses here are taken care of extremely well, however the training lacks perfection a great deal. Classcal dressage is art. Here unfortunately the quality does not deserve to be called art. Not quite yet. Sorry, just being honest.

  • they all looke super stressed out

  • that is absulty amazing

  • The "Airs Above the Ground" of Haute Ecole or High School were developed for battle from the natural movement horses make in the pasture. Of all the trainers of these majestic horses, the Spanish Riding School in Vienna has mastered the methods to train these very demanding manuevers. Dressage is a French word meaning "to train", so in this instance Airs Above the Ground IS Dressage, as it is training at it's highest form.
