Modern thought is the best play scales up and down the neck as fast as possible..crap..this is real talent..one of the top 5 players of all time if not the top. Saw him 3 times live and was in awe every time

@CaesarDux Okay, I'm gonna say this is 1973 - lots of clips circulating from this same show that are tagged as being from 1973, so I'm going with that.

This could be later than 1970 - there are clips from the same broadcast of this band doing I'm Going Down, which came out in 1972, so I'd just call it somewhere from 70 to 72, probably. Lots of really fantastic playing in this clip by Beck. And FWIW, I think Beck can absolutely play circles around Clapton. Could do it with both his arms sawed off, too.
