Solo dance, light, sound & video.

Thursday-Saturday, May 14-16 at 7:30 PM

Minimal and radical, subtle and provocative, Umeda's extraordinary butoh/street dance-inspired choreography appears within an environment of sparse, dramatic lighting, flashing cyber-imagery, electronic beats and crackling digital soundscapes.

  • Any chance you could upload the recording from the facing camera only? Unedited, just the straight shot so we can see all the visuals, as it what supposed to be viewed?

  • @GreatTeacherYukari well i guess the way that the music the lighting and his body are all in a way synchronize and i guess it doesnt seem as impressive because it flows so naturally that it seems as its just something random but that is what makes it beautiful thats what i think idk art is weird lol

  • Maybe I'm missing something but this dance doesn't seem that great to me. I mean, it looks difficult, whatever he is doing so I give him props for that but other than that...I have no clue what he is doing.

  • i love this dance, so powerful..

  • love it!

  • don't see the Butoh in this...looks like a speedy popper.

he's fast, but no range in direction or movements. choreographic intent is wack.

  • Fabulous!
