You'll notice that the monument has a different color as it rises. Construction had to stop because of conflict, but it was finished. Persistence & Resistance; to everything that would destroy the ideology our our founders. Build it and they will come. Build a nation worth defending and they will come. They will defend it - with Persistence, Resistance, Restoration.

I'd like to know what was so wrong with the 50's.

- We said the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools and included the words, "One Nation, Under GOD...".

- The Army was desegregated by Eisenhower.

- There were positive male role models on TV.

- Black on black crime was down and minority education was up.

That's just a few things. Don't throw stones from the dark. Come join us in the sunlight.

Not one specific point to back up his arguments. Glenn Beck is using all of you to make his millions, spreading paranoia, fear, and outright falsehoods under the guise of patriotism. He must go home ever night and laugh his fool head off.  He's admitted as much, that he's merely an "entertainer," a "clown." (his words)

This country needs to be handled the same way I handle my programming, imho. It takes 3 stages, inclusion, refinement, and expansion. Inclusion: we include everyone and everyone is included equally as a part of this country. Refinement: we need to keep fixing the problems of our country to strive to be the best that we can be. Expansion: we need to continuously add innovation and other great things as we have done so in the past (expand our faith/hope/charity). These are just some examples.
