Driven by this wheel a dozen times but the road nearby has no place to pull off so I never did anything more then admire it from a distance. Thanks for taking the time to record the wheel in action close up.

Cool, man. If you like this, you might also like Mabry Mill along the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside Floyd, Va. I have a video of it up on my channel. Then again, I think Mabry Mill probably has a million videos up and is likely the most-photographed landmark in southwestern Virginia... besides, perhaps, Lane Stadium.

nice
Thank you for posting our Beeler's Mill water wheel. It is a Fitz overshot wheel 26 feet in diameter with a 4 foot face (width of buckets), installed c. 1878. The grain mill for the wheel was dismantled in 1946 by then owner T. Wilmer Clipp & used to build the Children's Haven orphanage on the Shenandoah at Route 9. We have replaced the missing buckets visible in the video. Come see the wheel: park next to the gate & take an information sheet from the box. We will keep the wheel moving.

@tgingersoll You're very welcome! I'm extremely happy you were able to find this video and share information about it! I am a native of Jefferson County and have always pondered it's story. Thank you!
