This is a short interview with Dr. James Hansen of NASA's Goddard Institute of Space Studies. He was in Iowa to testify against the proposed Alliant Energy coal plant in Marshalltown.

He talks about the need to phase out coal plants because of global warming.

Please come to Australia and talk to the Victorian State Government about phasing out the brown coal power stations in the La Trobe Valley. Emissions from brown coal fired plants are much higher than for comparable black coal plants, with the world's worst polluting power station being the brown coal fueled Hazelwood Power Station in Victoria. Our politicians are not taking the hard decisions needed to reduce CO2 emissions from coal.
