I've just checked out your blog and I love it !

I envy you for having participated to the Naming Ceremony ^^ I've read on your blog that J45 had been named Se-Yi-Chn.. Where does this name comes from ?

Se-Yi-Chn is a Coast Salish/Samish language name meaning 'younger one.' The name was selected by the Samish Indian Nation and given to J-45. The Samish Indian Nation is one of the tribes of the Coast Salish peoples who have lived in the Pacific Northwest for a long long time.

Thank you very much for the informations !
It's a cute name and it suits him although it seems strange at the first view =) It's always the Samish Nation who decide of all the orcas' names ? Thank you for all your answers !

You asked if "it's always the Samish Nation who decide all of the orcas' names?" NO, they only decide on the names for the offspring of the J-14 because her name is Samish. I hope that makes it a bit more clear. thanks.
