Words Kill - The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence stage a die-in at Portland Pride, June 14, 2009

At Pride this Sunday, the usual small group of hate-spewers were present again (the same 3 or 4 guys show up every year it seems) ... I was lucky enough to capture video of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence staging a die-in for the educational benefit of the bombastic religioso.

My favorite part is the guy's rant about homosexuals being obsessed with cleanliness. Obviously, the guy has never been to the Dirty Duck.

Saying "words kill" does not stifle anyone's right to free speech. It does, however, call on all of us to realize the power of our words and act responsibly. It is a message echoed in the book of James in the Christian Bible that these so-called "Christians" claim they follow. What we say DOES matter. The message of the Christian Right has KILLED the souls of many gay men and women. They are free to speak their message, but the Sisters have called them to account for their words!

i believe in freedom of speech but i dont believe in hate. I have no problem with them showing there religion but please do not judge. Its hateful and your God is the only one that can judge. But like i said i have no problem with them protesting but do it tastfully

I'm the guy with his shirt off @2:25 and this video was taken about two years ago now. However, They claim that homosexuality is "against god" or whatever but here's a funny little story. I'm 100% heterosexual but i believe people are people. The guy in the vest didn't believe me and, i was a little fluffier then, but this guy was goin off on me for five minutes about other men there "deserved to have their shirts off" more than i did. I'm sorry, i smell closet case. at least i know who i am.

I dont understand the guy who is saying 'WE HAVE COME OT JUDGE" he doesnt know his chritstian faith all that well......Jesus said " dont judge others" for there is only one who will judge...and he is in Heaven.... As a gay man I am proud of who I am and the gay community has to stand up to such hate...one last thought what are these people coming to Pride for ....other than to cause problems for us...The Pride parade is our time....and by the way....Jesus said "love your nieghbor as yourself."

@demolishedman - any "Christian" who does not approach any person with at least an attempt at love and understanding is NOT a desciple of Christ as Jesus of Nazareth loved all that he came into contact with. BTW, totally random fact , my priest is both a woman and gay (love being Anglo-Catholic rather then Roman Catholic)
