Over the past 20 years, Moshe Alpert has been filming to create the first nature film in Israeli history. It's called 'Eretz Bereishit', Land of Genesis and follows three mammals in their respective geographic habitats, as the seasons change. Each of the animals -- the wolves of the Golan Heights, the swamp cats of the Sea Of Galilee and the ibexes of the desert -- will open a window to the world of plants and animals of the region. Alpert was an army cameraman before he turned his lens to nature. During Operation Litani in Southern Lebanon in 1978, he saw a group of pelicans enter into a rainbow and decided to make a film about pelicans. Since then, Alpert has filmed more than 30 nature films that have won him international acclaim, among his work, he has made films for the BBC and National Geographic. Land of Genesis will be released on 29th of July this year.
I knew a mitnadev who had a speaking "extra" part in "Moses the Lawgiver" (1974), starring (among others) Burt Lancaster and shot partially in Israel.
