Well said sir, well said. I think the advent of online killed multiplayer gaming. Instead of people playing at each other's houses in a 4-player, split-screen game, they play online with mics. How boring and isolated we have become as games. Whatever happend to those great Fridays and Saturdays that we all used to love as kids? I feel so sorry for people who were born past 2001.

Not only does it get annoying to see these type of "everything sucks today" type comments again AND again, but it's preventing the people who type those comments from enjoying life, they won't get anywhere by bashing everything modern, because they'll miss out on all the great things that come along these times. There are pros and cons to online like you said, plus a lot of parents see more cons than pros in video gaming in general anyway (even in the 80s/90s)

I play with my friends in Brawl offline, Melee, Mario Party, etc Even to this day. there are games out there that can still have a great Friday afternoon and Saturdays.Online isn't bad either. you get to play with players all over the world to compete with. Both have pros and cons, one way or another.

@regulatorzone well PC gamers have been playing online since before 2001, but i agree with you online console gaming killed the 'bringing friends over' factor.
