Cold start on one of our old Cat C7 powered FS-65 chassis buses. Around 10 degrees and it was plugged in all night. Air pressure was low.

  • I'll be 18 in a few months and I have money in my bank account.

  • @9sb19 but jerred how are you gonna get a bus and your only 17?

  • Yeah. It scares you when you forget it's active and open the door. Makes you jump. I don't know about your's, or this bus.. but just from my experience and from our fleet, and local ones, none work like this one.

Yes I am. I am a School Bus Enthuiast. I love them and live by them. I plan on getting my own this summer and I want to be a full time driver, mechanic, and Director. I have videos on here, too.

  • @9sb19 Glad to know its not so frantic right awaythat could be scary. My aunt showed me the system on one of the C2s one afternoon (shes a bus supervisor in NC). The horn blew twice soon as she shut the bus off, just like it did when it started up in this video, as well as the dome lights. I guess each system is a little different. Are you a school bus fanatic too? My favorite type of vehicle :)

  • I know what you are referring to, you are talking about the Child Check Mates and the No Child Left Behind. All of our newer buses are eqipped with those systems. But none of the horns go off as soon as the bus turns over. The only way to tell the alarm is active on ours is when you flip the master, period. But the headlights on the IC CEs will flash and once the entrance door is opened, it sounds or after 30 seconds. On the Thomas C2s and EFs, the dome lights come on.

  • @9sb19 Its an alarm system thats recently been implemented. It either requires the bus driver to walk to the back of their bus after shutting it off and disarm it, or they have to open the door before killing the engine. It ensures the bus is checked for sleeping children and lost articles. Look up school bus alarm system and youll see what Im talking about. :)

  • That is just about as annoying as the 2nd Gen Visions when they are yelling at you for low oil pressure when they aren't even running. Thank god that was fixed in the latest redesign

  • What was with the horn sound when the bus finally started completely?

  • nice sounding buzzer you got there, buddy.
