Italy travel: Pompeii. Most of our Perillo Tours Familia is visible in this segment, as we meet a resident of Pompeii. You can see the anguish, as he was caught in the painful last gasps of life. Wow. Mt. Vesuvius had been proclaimed an extinct volcano by the experts of the day, so the eruption was quite a surprise to the residents of Pompeii. They didn't have time to escape. With some clever techniques, archaeologists were able to pour plaster molds of the residents of Pompeii where they died. • Amazing, one of the places i have to visit in my life time. A whole town frozen in time.

  • thank you for sharing!

  • Although historically fascinating, there's something unsettling about digging up a graveyard, which is what the city had become.

  • im thinking of going there this summer... what is it really like can you get right in there? or is it kind of an interpretive center? i want to wander the actual place...

  • This place mistifies me, i'd love to go there one day. Preferably at a time the volcano doesn't decide to errupt again though.

  • A fascinating video and tour, I'm sure! The face of the first victim shown looked rather odd: it was showing features of teeth and eyes such as I've not seen in pictures from the other preserved figures, almost as if someone had fashioned them somewhere along the way!

Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

  • I would like to go to this place one day..what a very interesting place to pay a visit to...this is great
