The purpose of the Castor Bot project is just to be a simple and sturdy chassis that turns easily on both carpet and smooth floors that can be used as the base for more complex projects. See the other projects on the web site that are based on it, for example Bumper car with touch sensor, Mini Sumo Bot with light sensor, Voice Controlled Car with sound sensor, Explorer with Ultrasonic + Touch, etc.
