We celebrate July 14, French Independance Day, in Wisconsin, too.
But here in Madison, the Cajuns share the spot during the weekend celebrations.
Our festival is called the "Fête de Marquette" after Father Jacques Marquette, a studious Jesuit, and Louis Joliet, a 27-year-old philosophy student turned fur trader. They "discovered" Wisconsin in 1673.
