Here we look at some interesting summations by JWL Glaisher and how they can help us evaluate integrals. Hardy's requirements for the validity of RMT are probably satisfied due to the smooth functions and exponential decay.

  • I love your videos,

i was just wandering whats ur relationship with mathematics? is it a hobby or do you teach? either way this video is awesome, also do u translate any mathematical ideas to music? i ask this cos i have an alright knowledge of integration and differentiation and was wandering if you've found away of applying it, i know joseph shicllinger used mathematics for composition, wandering if you do anything like that?

  • I agree with lauriemonk, I must have missed something extremely crucial.

  • You, sir, are what some people would call "insane"....

Expert guitarist, pianist, AND math practitioner. Blows my mindXD

  • jeez... i'm only in my highschool linear algebra course...

wish I had space for a multivariable calc. course :(

  • Oh, I would suggest, if I may, a basic high school algebra textbook, or a junior high pre algebra class and practice problems from there and learn from the book (if you have problems with them, try to find a local tutor or try some internet sources) if that one doesn't work, then work your way up from that algebra to geometry, then to Algebra 2 work, then pre-cal, then calculus, hope this helped :)

  • any ideas where to stat with improving my maths? being so bad t maths is one of the reasons why i did so badly at programming

  • Ah, no worries, and I understand. My guitar playing is very sub par in comparison to this, but I'm still a beginner and all of Marshall's videos make we want to play better and be a better guitarist, and don't worry about the math thing, it's just like guitar you have to practice, learn, and grow :)

  • yeah i know, im sorry just that these videos make me feel even more inadequate than the guitar ones. the guys int elect is insane im very envious of all the people that understand his cos dont even get algebra

  • I'm a Mathematics Major, and all of your math videos are wonderful, and to all the people saying "post more guitar and piano vids," it's his choice to share with us what he loves, and I personally love these new videos :D

  • precisely....
