"Blotooth (pronounced blow-tooth) were one of those Dublin bands that nobody gave a shit about. Except Dublin's beloved indie radio station Phantom FM. Because nobody wanted to help the band they never had any money to make any records. But they did record a hell of a lot of songs in their garage in Tallaght. Once a new song was recorded, frontman Myles O Reilly would design, print and press ONE cd single and send it to Phantom FM. This went on for 3 years. A lot of people came to know the band through listening to the radio. But unfortunately, Blotooth never had any money and despite their popularity, never had a record in the shops. Ever. Actually, even when they put on the odd gig in Dublin, nobody would go. You could say that Blotooth had possibly the worst luck any band has ever had. But despite their lack of good fortune they still wrote and recorded, knowing that at least Phantom FM would give them an airing. Shaky, Dara and Myles should have been big, but Ireland at the time did'nt give a shit about Irish bands.
It's not all bad though. Today frontman Myles O Reilly makes splendid music under the moniker of .. .. JUNO FALLS , signing to Richard Branson's V2 Music in 2006, and.. .. PHANTOM FM are back and fully legal!! So eventually you could say everyone got what they deserved :)"
Enjoy Blo.tooth Responsibly :)

Great band I never got to See.. Great tunes.. The lead singer Myles O Reilly has gone onto become a great film maker directing and producing a lot of videos for Irish artists.. Check Lisa Hannigan's new song Knots.. And add Arbutus Yarns on Facebook. thats the company... Still creating fine art.. He also did the new James Vincent McMorrow video... ;-)

I've seen Blotooth the first time in 1999, in a small bar in Dublin, "The Bridge", I think. At that time I lived as an Au Aair girl for a year in Dublin. I'll never forget them. I never missed a concert. It was great. Too bad they do not make more music together anymore.

@mylesoreilly
Not a bother, Enjoy your music and a long time fan. Got the Starlight Drive Album when it came out but always had a thing for blotooths heavier side..
I must have passed you by at Electric Picnic in 2009 as I had booked in Arborea on the Body and Soul stage..You were doing filming at the time I believe..
