It is wrong to claim that Australian women earn 83c for every dollar earned by men in an equivalent job. Men and women in equivalent jobs earn the same amount - it is illegal to pay otherwise. Women on average earn 83% of what men earn on average. This is largely due to the job choices that men and women freely make. This campaign unfortunately creates resentment amongst women by making them think they are paid less than men for the same work. And it's government funded!

@Joelmc86 they claim this is international statistics, well it will be very interesting to see how much of them actually refer to western countries. I have a feeling that they have simply taken statistics from places like muslim countries, China and India etc to do what they so often do - use those statistics to back up their claims that women in western countries have it so bad. Why do they feel the need to even say "international equality" when the ad is clearly set in a western country??

thats rubbish. a female receptionist gets the same as male receptionist. a tradeswomen get payed the same as tradesmen.same as DR's Nurses Police. what ever

. they are only winging about the top end jobs where they are under contract and have to rely on negotiations and commission.

@Joelmc86 This is nothing more than typical feminist propaganda - telling women what to believe... why else does it say in the corner in small writing "most women do not realize this"?? This is treating women like they are idiots. They just said on the news that women only make up a small percentage of board members so therefore women are paid less. Do those female board members get paid less than the male ones do though?? Nothing to do with gender, more women need to apply for those positions!

From a males point of view.. this add is reffering to INTERNATIONAL equality in pay. This issue is far bigger and concerns far more people than just you and your friends.This actually exisits and most workers are not even aware of it. Either way defending equality for anybody is not degrading at all its honorable! Have some respect and fight for fairness! Dont just sit back and allow others to do it for you. Im cheering the girls on for giving it a go and bringing awareness. The adds fantastic!

@security4women I agree some comments were rude but i also saw others on here that i didn't think were rude at all and you still removed them. I thought one of those questions was very valid. If you are going to make a claim about something then it is only fair you provide evidence to back it up, so... where in the workforce are women paid lower than men just because of gender?? None of my friends or me get paid any lower than our male workers. I think this ad is actually pretty degrading to us.

Dont get me wrong I respect people have their own opinion but how on earth can anybody respect your view when you bring it accross so childishly. "stupid bitches" thats revolting.
