The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face - pan flute, harmonica and bamboo flute. This is the Roberta Flack classic. This one is done for Diana on her birthday! Happy brithday Di - and I wish you many more in good health and prosperity.

Dear friend . . . music is such a wonderful thing! It warms the heart and sooths the troubled mind! I am a completely self taught musician and the only reason I post these videos is that (hopefully!) they may inspire you to run out and get an instrument and learn to play! Its not that hard! You can either teach yourself or find a tutor in your neighborhood. I can promise you your life will be greatly enriched!

I struggle to get a modicum of quality in the videos I do to here on YouTube. I have only a cheapie Logitech Web Cam that's really just made for chatting on theinternet so I have to spend the longest time trying to position it so the notes do not distort. In order to curb distortion I also have to play with reservation ... as you can imagine this curtails my being able to play with maximum expression.

Then there is the challenge with focus and to get a volume balance when I play more than one instrument, as in this vid. When the position of the web cam allows the volume of one instrument to be 'right' -- then the volume of the others is 'wrong.' ! ! ! Anyhow it's fun and I hope you like listening to the stuff I put up. One day, one day perhaps I may be able to get in a proper recording studio and do some quality work.... and the angels will sing.

"At the end of the day" I do these videos as an encouragement to all musicians, amateur and not so amateur, to post their work and share it with music lovers all over the world ... and to urge EVERYBODY to grab an instrument and learn to play!

To learn to play is not an awesome thing! Look - if I can turn a tune ... then you can surely do it too! You'll find such rich rewards if you'll just take the first step ... and that is - go out and get an instrument!

You can do like me and be self taught ... but it would be better to work with a teacher... there are plenty music teachers in your neighborhood!

By the way - a pan flute is one of the easiest insturments you can learn to play ... the pan flute is he world's oldest instrument.

Listen to Zamfir and the many others here on YouTube ... you'll hear hauntingly beautiful music ... and you can play it too! - just put 'pan flute' in the Search and you'll have it all at your fingertips...

TX for that tip jneil7 -- I've tried that scenario but it didn't help - - quite possibly the 'external mike' I used wasn't any better than the 'built in' one ! ! !

BTW. What I do is disable Logitech's built in mic and plug in my own computer mic, which I can position where I want it.
