Dayton Children's Ambassador Devon Eley

Devon Eley was only 4 days old when he was admitted to Dayton Children's. Devon was diagnosed with bilateral clubfeet as well as caudal regression syndrome, which is a malformation of the spine and spinal cord that happens in the first month of pregnancy when the spinal column does not grow completely. He has had several surgeries and outpatient visits. Since his first visit in 1996, Devon has been seen by several physicians in orthopedics, neurosurgery, nephrology, neurology, developmental pediatrics and ophthalmology. His care team has included James Lehner, MD, orthopedic surgeon; Laurence Kleiner, MD, pediatric neurosurgeon; Leonardo Canessa, MD, pediatric nephrologist; Daniel Lacey, MD, pediatric neurologist; Eileen Kasten, MD, developmental pediatrician; and has visited the physicians at Bloom Family Eye Surgeons, a private practice located at Dayton Children's. Devon's mother, Heather, says he loves coming to Dayton Children's.

Devon you are truly a champion. It's amazing to see all these great kids and what they go through. But they're still just normal kids. And I myself was a Children's Miracle Network Champion in 2002. I am humbled by these amazing kids.
