Let's Play Final Fantasy VIII #017 - Card Hacking

In this episode, I show a glimmer of power from the almighty Card mod ability.

Recommended Abilities for Diablos: Time Mag-RF, HP-J, Mug, Enc-Half, Enc-None, ST Mag-RF, HP+20%, HP+40%, HP+80%, Mag+20%, Mag +40%

Recommended Setup
Zell: Ifrit, Siren, ST Def-J Silence, Str-J Curaga, Mag-J Sleep, Str+60%
Squall: Shiva, Diablos, Str-J Blizzaga, Mag-J Curaga, Str+60%
Selphie: Quezacotl, Draw, Magic, Card, Mag-J Curaga, Str+60%

I did not figure out everything about Triple Triad on my own. Here is a link to Sister's Card Game FAQ where I got most of my information. Although I don't follow it to the letter, there's really not much room for deviation, and it was immensely useful in organizing gathering all the rare cards.

I will elaborate more on the Queen of Cards sidequest later. For now, just make sure to lose Minimog to her and that she's heading for Dollet. If she says she's heading towards Galbadia, it is critical that you reset and try again.

Man Junctioning is a funny thing, as early as now by putting the Curagas into HP-J you can get over 2000 HP.

@RoyalRose122 the card game doesnt change any story line what so ever, you can get added dialogue with the a certain card quest later. (I know my answer is 2 months late but who knows who it will help)

@Crosswalker No, Quezacoatl != The Aztec God of Corn. Quetzalcoatl was allegedly a god who gave people many, many things, corn just happening to be one of them.

I used the Abyss Worm card to refine into a windmill which gives 20 tornados - HUUUUGE strength junction!!! My Squall is at Lvl 14 and strength is at 80 :)

I liked triple triad myself as well although it did make me rage when the AI would pull out all the combo, same and plus moves......
