Convict fry - free swimming

These are probably just out of the eggas its the first day i have seen them. The male and female had been very teritorial laetly and i almost lost a blue acara.
They are minding the fry at the minute - we shall just wait and se how long they last

How do you tell if they are male or female?

i just bought to of them and one is about 2 inches long and has dark colors and the other is about 3 inches and has like no color and they are from the same breeder.

the female will get red colour on her back just before her tail fin. She will swell slightly when holding eggs.

They will then find somewhere to lay eggs (under my ornament) they dig it out and ly eggs. During this time hey are really aggresive and can even kill other fish. The eggs hatch and fry become free swimming. Hope that helps.

those fry are at least a week old.

seems like they were eating the frys but i know better i have some too but i move the parents out...i know its not a good idea lol hope my fry survive...their 1 day old today
