At the start of the 1971-1972 season, Roberto Bettega, 21, was a sensation in Serie A, scoring 10 goals in 14 games. Shockingly, he was found sick with a serious tuberculosis condition. This kept him away from the field for almost 1 year, and could have ended his career. But 'Bobby Gol' was back as good as before, and had a great career with Juventus scoring 178 goals in 480 games from 1970 till 1983.
One of Italy's and Juventus greatest forward stars, especially at the 1978 World Cup in Argentina.
