This clip is from the 1950 film Al Mazlouma (The Innocent Victim) Zozo Mohamed plays the part of a famous dancer who is performing a dance segment onstage and the set is supposed to be a hamam ( a bath house) The part of the starstruck maid is played by actress 3akela Rateb who actually has the leading role in this film. The dance coach for this film was Edward Fares according to the film credits.
Zozo Mohamed was a golden era dancer who danced both at Badia Masabni's club and also at Beba Ezz el Din's club.

  • Such an interesting style - the back-up dancers look like they are doing moves from American dance extravaganza films from the 30-40's with the formations, poses and almost pseudo hula arms. They also seem to dance up on their toes much of the time. Zozo in contrast is moving very little and dances almost entirely flat footed.
