Tony gives us a passionate rendition of why sound quality is import and how bad the sound of the 21st century really is. This talk is a fascinating journey into the mind (or ear drums) of a man who is dedicated to raising our sonic consciousness. He believes it is a direct way to connect with ourselves, others and could just save the world.

Tony had some good things to say but he could have said it in half the time. Unfortunately - rather ironically - his microphone was so badly placed thus giving us an awful quality audio with continuous "breathy" noise.

This man should really study the MPEG-3 codec in detail and the concepts on what it was developed, before depicting it as rubbish! Oh and concerning his comparison of vision and hearing : yes the human audio system is way more sensitive than the visual, when it comes to temporal resolution, directivity and masking. However he just forget to mention that one contains only two channels and the other more than million. I like his spirit, but from time to time he shares nonsense.

To be honest that's Tony's nose, though. In another interview you could hear him hissing a mile away from the mic.

"This guy" is the founder of Funktion One. Watch his interview on Point Blank. Your opinion will probably change if you pay attention.

i heard it's 1 of 100 trained ears that can tell the difference between a good mp3 and a .wav file, then why is it sucha big matter for him?

This guy is clueless about MP3 files, digital converter quality, and sample rates and bit depths. The quality of his own microphone is also atrocious!

It is more costly to supply wav files, so of course you have to pay more to get them.
