This is a horse with evidence of left laryngeal hemiplegia. The horse has some small amount of movement on the left side of the larynx but is not able to fully abduct the cartilage. This will reduce the effectiveness of the horse when galloping as there will be a reduction in the amount of air that can be inhaled. A horse like this may be able to gallop over short distances, however the horse is unlikely to be able to gallop over further than 1600m with a condition like this.
