Follow "American Racing Mower Association" build rules. Also check out "Orange" Test N Tune (After Rebuild) on this same channel. A working tether kill switch is always required! If you check out the yahoo sports group redneckracers OR yahoo group washingtonlawnmowerracers then go to Photos and open up albums labeled - Mows, Orange & Specific Modifications AND Jan 1st you will find more specific pics on may items. Also check out the Links section. A great forum to ask questions.
Oh and the reverse chain has also been removed from the transaxle. Seat - 2" of super dense rebond, with 1" dense white on top, covered with jet ski/snowmobile non slip vinyl. Motor Oil - Synthetic Royal Purple. Tranny Lub - As much as possible the 00 grease was spooned out and replaced with Synthietic 75-90. Everything is held together with the help of Blue Locktite and a couple places I used Red. NO engine after market parts, no big bucks here. It should be obvious that the new direct steering has been really beefed up and strengthened, this is absolutely necessary. See "Orange" Original Built on this channel.

  • @DSLGKC550 Not no professional here, just trying to do a good job and sharing with others.

  • you really did a good job. You can see that it is done by a professional!

  • @mowerspeedracer On "Orange" the old Ariens, it originally had hydrostatic tranny, I had to swap it out for a Peerless 6 speed and lock it, pretty much made the whole thing over, works great now though, was a real challenge. After the rebuild the rear end sheet metal is from an old Craftsman.

  • @Z3CHYD Yes is an early Ariens, the Tec is junk. The frame is junk, so is the steering set up, I have had to EXTENSIVE work on both to get them right. Everything works fine now, but I'd advise don't use it. The frame is way too flexible, the steering pivot in the center underneath is a sloppy, poor designed mess.
