  • ouch, I've taken martial arts my whole life and unfortunately where I live now I don't have the opportunity, I'm looking to switch styles when I move. Do you think Ju-Jitsu would be good for my body type? I'm 6'5" about 190 lbs and athletic

  • Hi Yes Ju-Jitsu suits most body types.

You may have to work harder using some throws on smaller training partners though. Have a go if you can find a good club! Hope it goes well!

  • This is aikido not jiu-jitsu.

  • Maybe it looks that way since Aikido was created by a Ju-Jitsu Master, as was Judo and WadoRyu Karate!

  • Sorry you feel that way!

I look forward to seeing a video of you demonstrating, or failing that one of you green belts (if you can't).

Pleae send me a link when you have uploaded you video

  • Excellent Demo'!! it's nice to find the 'true' Ju-Jitsu on this site instead of that sloppy, fashionable SPORT ' Brazilian Ju-Jitsu' that seems to be flooding in from everywhere leaving most newcomers to this amazing art believing that 'Brazilian Ju-Jitsu' is Ju-Jitsu. Ju-Jitsu comes from Japan, it's one of the oldest martial arts known to man and it's not a SPORT!

  • Great Job! Very Impressed with your Seiza Waza, All your techniques were very clean and efficient---2nd dan in Japanese Ju-jitsu.

  • Nice!

  • Great demonstration of Jiu-Jitsu!

I am but a humble blue belt in Hontai Yoshin style Ju-Jitsu.

It was evident that your ukes were being subjected to a hardwood floor.(OUCH!)

Hence you had to slow down your throws/takedowns/immobilizations.

I know what it is like to practice on an unmatted area.(Sore to say the least)

Throwing anyone via o-goshi, ippon/seo nage, kote geshe, shiho nage, morote seo nage etc on a floor even at half speed it can be very painful/dangerous or even fatal.

  • Excellent video. Poor uke lol

  • good jitsu

  • This is very good.

I can see the essence of you're martial art

    Thank you for posting!!

  • @betwixtX its definitely ju jitsu, its far too hard a style to be considered aikido, the only similarity is that they're wearing hakamas, which jujitsuka sometimes do

  • I am so proud of my last name right now :P

  • 2:42 LoL ))

  • @GoshinWaza Another keyboard warrior comes to critique technique. I have been studying judo and Jujitsu since 92 and this is technically sound traditionally demonstrated jujitsu. That coupled with the fact that this appears to be being done on a hardwood floor should be more than enough to shut most people up.
