It's the holiday season and for airports that means an increase in the number of travelers and a higher level of security. However, the typically long lines at the security check will be cut in half this year at some worldwide airports thanks to this machine.

The Magshoe, created by IDO Security in Israel after the events of September 11th is the answer to one of the most problematic areas in security checks: your shoes. Walk through metal detectors today lack the technology to successfully scan below the shin, making it easy for weapons to go undetected. The Magshoe is designed to scan the whole foot, and the best part for travelers, you don't have to take your shoes off.

  • What is the methodology of this device (how does it work?)

  • @tchhigh A person steps onto the MagShoe without having to take off his or her shoes and the device then scans in a matter of a few seconds the whole foot for undetected weapons. Essentially, the MagShoe is a metal detector.

  • If that machine was used in American airports, it would save time.

  • So true.

  • How much does this add to our flight tickets?

  • It probably doesn't effect the price of tickets significantly, if at all, but it does immediately shorten the time it takes to go through security and helps ensure everyone's safety.

  • Worlld airports should follow the example of Israel and properly and adequately look after safety of its passengers.

  • Great work Israel. Continue to invent better technologies to save lives. Sad that this is required, but at least your country looks for solutions.

  • to open the can and scanned it with that" big tooth brush" and now i obviously can't gift no one with it. All the safety procedures

are justifiable but the impoliteness and arrogance of the guys from the safety of Ben Gurion airport made me don't want to come back to Israel.

  • I had a nice time in israel and I have no complains about the country but the check at the airport is RIDICULOUS. Even though it didn't take that long,( about 30 minutes) they nocked me out with lots of pointless questions in a very insolent way spoiling the end of my trip. They also questioned why I visited some museums, if I knew the address of the places I've been to and the names of the people that recommended me to go to those places. I had bought a can of jelly and the girl managed to o

  • LOLZ SO KEWL HAHA LOLOLOL

  • I am constantly amazed at the stupidity of the general population! Israel, an innovator in everything, creates another new device to make life easier and all you Anti-Semites can only find fault! Stop creating lies to feed you hatred!

I would venture to guess that most of you who complain and attack Israel are using many of their inventions in your homes right now! GET A LIFE! MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, JUST LIKE ISRAEL DOES EVERYDAY...

  • -USS Liberty of the US navy attacked by Israeli air force and navy torpedo boats. 34 US soldiers killed, 170 severely wounded

april 12 1938 - may 3 1948 ~ British soldiers, politicians, diplomats, civilians killed and 1000's severely wounded

-British headquarters [king david hotel] bombed

-2 British sergeants kidnapped, hung on a tree in a eucalyptus grove, bodies were then booby trapped

if this is the way Israel treats it's American and British allies, i would not want to be their enemy ..

  • It's all balloney ! Up untill today there is not such a device at the Ben Gurion Airport .

  • @esthrm i live in the us. why did people give thumbs down? its not like im the one who does this

  • @salthecomic1 I like a sense of humor.
