Played on Yamaha HS80's (which are just the updated ns-10's) It sounds pretty good. Something is a little woofey in the low mids. It's not unbearable but a little filtering out some of those frequencies could help. Mostly from those toms But the bass is a little too present there for my liking. But i liked the sound overall. nice Mix.

nice mixing! levels are great clear placement is great.
-Played on KRK VXT8's

just wondering, what amplifier is best for YAMAHA NS10? any suggestion out there?
-

The reason most recordings suck could have somthing to do with the hardware your using at your end.
the ns10m's are used (well.... they can be used for allsorts, but in my experiance, the predominant use) was to reveal bad midrange parts, and see how well a mix will translate onto low end systems,
they also have the positive upshot of sounding like crap, excentuating all the unflattering frequencies
they are MILES from flat, if you look at a responce graph you will be suprised
-
Seaclam67, theyre not the worse ever made.... but theyre more of "what you hear is what you get", unlike the new monitors that scoop some frecuencies and basically EQ the sound, these are kinda flat with high mid-range.. but one thing is sure.. if you can make your mix sound good on these, then you can make a mix sound good on anything. thats why every studio has them, along with their hi-fi new monitors.
-
Hey , have you tried the new HS50 compared with the ns10,?? just wondering
-
Mega, They were and still are a benchmark monitor. The peak in the NS-10's mid band is intentional, representing a response most listeners do not like, so that in final mixing most engineers will reduce the mid range with EQ. Mixing with flat or exaggerated extension monitors will usually constitute a final response in the master that listeners will not like. This is commonly what happens when mixing with speakers such as the B&W 801 and is why a lot of classical music can lack bass and treble.

ah ok..
though..the video showed up after looking for ns10.
hell yeah ! i thought the video was supposed to be about the ns10`s ..not the song.

no sorry dude, thats why I called it Rob Slater - Hypnotist because it's a video so people can hear that song. I listed NS10's in the description because they were part of the equipment used In the studio.

you do realize that im listening to it NOT using ns10`s ? right ?

ok, but I only put my picture of a ns10 there so it wasn't a blank screen, it doesn't mean you must listen to the song using ns10's.
