62nd Mon National Day celebration in London

According to the Lunar Calendar, Mon National Day would fall on 10 February 2009 in this year. .Depending upon local circumstances in different cities around the world, some may celebrate this occasion before or after the actual date taking into account the weekend and peoples availability to attend.
Nevertheless, if Mon people around the world celebrate this occasion on different dates there is only one common cause in our hearts and minds to unite together for Freedom and Democracy. Mon National Day is important as it gives us an opportunity to reflect upon our literature and culture achievements and strengthen our community endeavours.

i prefer this is surly mon national day instead of speak burmese language we would better speak english to understand for all people.

i studied alot and i feels sorry for the cham people. as well as the Mon people who originate in modern day thailand and burma.

the chams were kicken out of ther homeland and msot fled to cambodia. some went to malaysia, other went to an island in southern china, and some stayed in vietnam.

the Mon people llsot ther land to the thais and mon who came from southerna china (yunnan province) and stole ther land. now they live as ethnic minorites in those countries

thailand also stole a big part of malaysia in southern thailand and thats why the malay ppl in south thailand are fighting the thai gov. they want ther land back.

thailand also stole huge parts from cambodia- sisiket,buriram,surin proivinces as well as modern day bangkok.

vietnam besides whiping out the chams, they also stole a the huge south eastern part of cambodia.. now cambodia only a 1/3 the size it was before thai and viet migrated down to terorize southeast

It's great happiness of mine to see the Mon National Celebration in London and I am very proud of all of you celebrating this event in the country that never has before. Mon unity is essential in the fight for Mon National Rights.
