7 people can't see the shire, and have no friend to hug...

You freakin idiots who say its gay really skew the way people look at things, shut up and keep your homosexual thoughts to yourself.

@foodbug, honestly I really liked the book. I think LOTR and Harry potter films were as good as the book. Of course they left out tons of stuff, but I still felt a strong feeling in here as so in the book!

I watched this movie two weeks ago for the first time in years. I had forgotten how good this film is. I remember watching this movie in the theater the day it came out and how the heavy emotion in this movie felt so real you hurt. When Sam says "Rosie Cotton dancin'. She had ribbons in her hair. If ever I was to marry someone, it would have been her." is so sad, because it almost feels as though optimistic Sam was finally saying we aren't gonna make it. I think of the first film.

Man,these are some fucked up times we live in where loyalty is viewed as an incovenience and friendship is regarded as "LE GAY"

God the book would have been so heart breaking if they died there.

This is the music Bethesda should of used for Skyrim when you encounter a dragon.

@Bunnyhop777 Great comment!
I just now realized that where Frodo said "Sam, I'm glad you're with me" at the end of the first film, he here says "I'm glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee", as if he is honoured to be in the presence of him. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I thought it showed just how deep their friendship has become. Sam is no longer a gardener, but a friend, a hero.

Anyone who says that Sam and Frodo are gay are misguided and foolish. Sam and Frodo, as written by Tolkien, are 2 friends with unconditional love & loyalty for eachother, just like David and Jonathan. They would stick by eachother until the death...and that is simply a genuine, pure friendship.
Our Americanized way of thinking has conditioned us into believing everything is somehow sexual. It's unfortunate that more friendships like these do not exist for people to be able to relate.
