Recorded live at Club Passim (Cambridge, MA) Feb 17, 2010
The transcendent cool of Boston's David Wax Museum is beginning to catch on everywhere you look. Boston music filmmaker Steve Legare does an exemplary job on this clip evening capturing this amazing Americana Act for Ryan's Smashing Life (rslblog.com)
For the uninitiated, David Wax Museum could be the World's premiere Mexo-Americana band at this particular point in history. RSL is pleased to bring you the music of David Wax Museum at the Boston's premiere folk hot spot.
The 2010 performance depicts the band playing songs from their beautiful new album, Carpenter Bird.
Recording details: recorded with HV30 (Rode Videomic) Sound: Club Passim's soundboard audio
DAvid Wax lived in Mexico and sudied Mexican Folk music from Veracruz, I don't agree with the person below, these guys are legit. Los lobos is a great band but it's a totally different category. You don't have to be Black to play blues, you don't have to be mexican to play Mexican folk music, as long as you feel the music, that's all.

Puh-leez! "the World's premiere Mexo-Americana band"? They are kinda cute, perky and catchy, but I can't agree to that statement. What about Los Lobos, to name but a single other possible example? They are charming, perhaps, but feel a bit like culture vultures pulling that tip.
