I refuse to have my vagina shamed by anyone. I'm a girl, a gamer, a horror fan, and a freakin' weirdo and I have absolutely no shame in that. I play anything, any time and I don't care how I'm perceived. Maybe it's easier for me: I've always been a tomboy, never a "hot chick" and don't allow my boobs to dictate my actions. I may get weird stares when I go game shopping or visit my local liquor store in a gaming t-shirt but I go home to my gamer boyfriend and we game hard. We rare, who cares?

I can see myself agreeing with most of the arguments being presented in this conversation, but am still somewhat disturbed by the underlying mentality about these types of discussions. Having separate victim/privileged groups only helps to destroy any real progress. Feminist will only talk to other women. Men will only talk to other men. If people really cared, we would see more people breaking the gender gap and somehow making a thoughtful conversation between both sides in the same room.

I think having 3 women discuss this topic was dooming it from the start. It just turned into a big circle rub.

Yes it's normal to do what you want to do but the fact is most girls aren't into games like alot of guys are so it's rare.

Being a gamer is like being a woman. If you have to say you are, you aren't.

the thing i noticed with girl gamers is most girl gamers only game to get attention and this is why most men who play video games and hear a girl playing cant engage in normal conversation instead they say something ridiculous like let me see your tits or something lol don't perceive yourselves like that.

(2-2) why 'some'? because females have good to very good (...& poor) gamers w/n their ranks just like males do.

the more u have gamers like GGG or kayane the less u ll have down right fucking crap dudebro guys are known to say in tournaments or online to them. respect is earned and for it to be girls have to known/seen not stay silent behind a manly pseudo (those taken for the solely goal of impersonating guys online and not get unwanted attention).

yeahit is as big an issue because games are becoming bigger and bigger and concern more and more people each year. games are part of popculture now getting into museums and art galleries.

yeah i m separating geeky(there may be pretty ones w/n) from KNOWN as in publicly known(there definitely are pretty ones in THAT basket).

all, no, MORE gamer girls should make themselves known so the common dudebro could get that he is getting ass kicked by a girl and some of them are not to be taken lightly.

(2-2) like gamer girl=barbie poney ride.

like gears of war featuring (too late imo) in 3, women who fight and are not just secretaries(contrary to gow1).

if the gaming women stay silent people will assume things in their stead (like what should be offensive to women contrary to what actually is) and nothing will evolve.
