Listen and watch Evangelist-Missionary Mitch Metzger teach on this "old as the hills" topic of "What Does the Bible Say About Street Preaching?" @whatthepeanuts Matt. 6:5 says to pray in private, it does not say anything about preaching the gospel. The context of that verse specifically rebukes those who pray publicly to gain the admiration of others. That is, to make people think, "My how spiritual this person is" or "How kind they are to pray for the needs of others."

As stated in the video, Matt. 10:27 tells us to preach the good news from the rooftops.

@whatthepeanuts Please tell me what verses that are in the bible that say this. I want them to tell my mother this because she says that jesus tells us to preach the word. I want to prove her wrong.

Matt 6:5 renders any argument you may have from other humans invalid because you savior told you to pray insie and to not preach on the corner or in the synagogue (which theoretically is what going to church is doing) You do not get to pick and choose pieces of your religion based on convenience sir. According to your relious beliefs at their core words from god are highest in standing, words from Jesus are words from God, words from humans may be corrupted by the devil and so rank last. read it
