@caveman357 In principle VRay knows how to handle fluids in Maya , so there is no question if it can pull it off or not , edit some settings in the renderer , tweaq , test ;)

@caveman357 I wish I could help you man , I only once worked with fluids in Maya and then I was still working with mental ray , I had no problems what-so-ever so I don't know what to tell you , I advise you google it and you should find a forum or something that can help you out , I don't think you're the first one to stumble on a problem like that ;) , sry , cheers !

I Have V ray and started to use it, but i notice that when it comes to rendering fluids, it dosent show up. Why is this happening?

How do you remove the texture that you applied in order to apply a new texture?
OlwenHogan 2 months ago
@OlwenHogan Replace the original one with another , pretty self explanatory really , just go to browse again in the atribute editor of you shader , and choose another texture , you can also delete the field in the browsing panel or delete the the link between the shader and the actual texture in your Hypershade and that particular shader will no longer have a texture asigned to it

Ok. I will try that out! Another question i have is, whn rendering with Vray, certian materials dont show up in my renders. Do you have to render with Vray materials, the maya materials, or can you just render them all including the mental ray? I am doing an animation and i need a helicopter to blow up a building. Im confused because i want to get the textures in there but sometimes they dont show up. ANd what setting would you suggest i tweak for the fluids?

@caveman357 That's weird , no you shouldn't be having problems with the "default" materials in Maya when using VRay , this is curious , as it is right now I don't know what to tell you , some render settings would help , also some shading networks to see what you're working with. Any kind of material should work just fine with any kind of renderer , send me an email at either jsb3d@yahoo.com or jseb3d@gmail.com with some screenshots , maybe then I can help you out a little more :-?
