When the Shotokan guys go in with those side kicks, the Hung Gar students should have used either Crane Punch or the twisting horse stance part of SanSou. This would have thrown the Shotokan guys around using their own momentum and exposed their ribs , or allowed for a sleeper choke from behind. Simples
