i remember going to hear the Velvets in all parts of the state back in the 70s I know all the guys in the band and keep in touch woth Joe, Abel and Don. David plays in the band Charles and the Fabulours Four-He's a great steel guitar player and vocalist-He came by the Wharton Journal-Spectator when i worked there and brought me an old 45 of the Velvets which was recorded back in the the 60s-I even helped the band put out posters, book and sell 8 Track tapes and vinyl albums

Performed Live at THE SPORTSMAN'S BAR AND GRILL, in Moulton, Texas.(I believe summer of 2001. The club closed August 2002) The Velvets have been churning out their own sweet blend of down home country and zesty polka music for many years.
