  • The idea of L4D came waaaay back in the early CS days, but Killing Floor and L4D are totally different, so comparing them and calling them rip-offs of eachother is inaccurate :E

  • KF and L4d are not rip offs of one another. Different concepts in each game, different enemies and different goals.

  • only part that gets annoying, is the "Cover me! Im reloading. Hold on a sec. Im reloading."

  • playing L4D feels happy

playing K SHAT A WALL O MY GOD NO HELP MEEGEGDN AWBHHIDFC

  • @randomgalore left 4 dead was a source mod not a cs mod. killing floor was an unreal engine game. it was ran through unreal tournament.

  • Well Tripwire no shit something went wrong

WHY THE FUCK IS THERE A MAN WITH A CHAINSAW ON HIM AND MACES ON PEOPLE AND A FUCKING CHAINGUN!

  • saying this and L4D are different is like me comparing a football and a basketball.

  • @randomgalore :O

I know about a zombie mod for CS, but it was nothing related to L4D.... Valve themselves have said their inspiration for L4D came way back from CS/CSS when they were messing around in the office and played some knife only games and then played with 2 or so devs together at Valve against dozens of bots all just with knives.

So yeah, i guess you are kind of calling the L4D devs liars...

As for KF, yeah that's a mod turned into game. But we are talking about the original mod.

  • @neoduke007 Left 4 dead was a counter-strike mod 2004 or 2006 I don't remember, same with killing floor but for unreal tournament.

  • @randomgalore yep, but that goes to prove it further ;)

Just the fact they came out at the same time means they could not have copied each other yet! I think KF was developed over 3 years and L4D over 4 or something?

So obviously impossible to have copied/inspired each other

  • @neoduke007 its funny because both of the original ideas were mods that came out right about the same time.

  • What's all this bullshit about whatever ripping off what? The games are years apart, and are incredibly different.

L4D, kill a bunch of zombies from point A to point B.

KF, Struggle to slaughter failed experiments in situations so hopeless that even the slightest error can mean instant death... again and again.
