Here is the centrifuge I Built on a homemade wood lathe for filtering waste vegetable oil to run in my car.

The centrifuge is no more now. It ubsorbed oil in the wood. I knew this would happen eventually. I just did not think it would ubsorb it unevenly causing the bowl to vibrate to the point where it is going to explode. ha ha. Back to the drawingboard. I think the next one will be made of Nylon.

  • I like people like you.The difference between an engineer and other people is,an engineer can do for 50 bucks what anyone else has to spend 500 on.

  • @tuguybear But the mechanic does it for five... ;)

  • Coat the rotor with epoxy

  • where do you get the bowl???

  • shut of the motor if your going to talk,,,

  • @ironlionkalo Nope I did not have any plans. Made it up on the fly. I looked at the simple centrifuge and made a similar design. All of the parts were just laying around. I dont think I really bought anything other then the wood. And that was about 50 bucks. The lathe bowl was turned using lathe tools on the shaft that it is mounted on. I then turned the shaft vertical mounted it with a frame and housing. My next aluminum one is much better. Just need to make my oil shed out back first.
