I'm curious where you found Berg's estimation of Webern as "the greatest living conductor since Mahler." Can you provide a reference?

Very touching. Krasner is best remembered for his Berg commission, but he was concertmaster at Minneapolis for some years, and a fine teacher. Sounds like he was also a fine grandfather!
