Recorded last July 4. The title song from the Traffic LP that we listened to in art class every day in the 10th grade alternating with Carol King's Tapestry Stairway to heaven and such, 1971-1972.

The song is actually ancient, something like 1100 AD, even before I was born. Crab-tree stick, indeed.

  • Well done Sir

  • I appreciate that. Always intrigued by this song.

  • I have to agree with Donna! I always like this song. You may not have a flute, but the insects are providing some music on their part.Nice job and it's a perfect song for your vocals!

  • There will be leaves any day now, and birds to heckle me soon. The cicada does sound like percussion now that you mention it...interesting timing too.

  • This is just one of the best songs ever in my book.. good job Alan!

  • That was a lot to remember, but fairly easy to play. I always like that song, particularly the flute work. That was always an important part of the early traffic sound.

  • Curses! I can't find any versions with the Robert Burns lyrics.
