1/26/08: Is there a brain drain in Vermont? Are we losing brainy young people to metropolitan areas?

These days, Vermont's economic forecast seems glum which is where Seven Days and Vermont 3.0 come in.

This Saturday over 1,500 people stopped by Main Street Landing to mingle with the 50+ exhibitors at the first ever Vermont 3.0 Creative/Tech Career Jam.

The concept was simple, provide a meet and greet for innovative Vermont technology companies and people searching for jobs. Voila!

In case you were one of the few who missed it, Governor Douglas played Guitar Hero (not too successfully), Bernie Sanders and Anthony Pollina came through, students from all over VT and leaders in Vermont's creative technology industries rubbed shoulders.

After a successful event such as this, the future seems bright enough for shades.

Music: Super fresh song by Missy Bly, "Afraid to Fly," off her brand new album, MB3.

  • ooooooooops sorry replied to wrong comment

  • haha i read that too, it wasn't as good as the nanny diaries unfortunately (by the same authors). i also read dedicated but i think nanny diaries was their best book.

  • I'm glad I moved out.

  • i love the lady at the end

  • YaY Super Spektacular as always EVA!

I just got finished reading Citizen Girl and it was all about this girl trying to make her way through the job market/unemployment while being a feminist. I listened to the tape version, which was sheer crazyness because the author did the voices for every character.

  • cool work!

  • That last lady has the best look Ever!

  • Hi, Eva. As always, good use of music and montage. And an interesting subject. With the economy taking a downturn I guess Vermont is like so many other places. People leave because there might be better opportunities somewhere else. But I guess if you really like where you live you'll stay no matter what. But the Career Fair is a good idea because it lets people know what's out there and gives them options.
