What is The Atheist Experience?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

  • @DaAlphaOmega I was raised in a old school, Hell, fire brimstone, type of Christian family. 22 years old, I came to realise that the bible was nothing more than a horror story. I am now 23 and still trying to completely let go of the damage done to me emotionally, and mentally. Being told your a "sinner", "worthless" "undeserving of gods love" "naked, wretched, miserable and knoweth it not" for a little over 2 decades does something to a Childs mind. I'm glad that I had the courage to leave.

  • @Urfullobull Yes I have a bible but I need to know where to look. I honestly don't know why certain things are done, but I must read the entire passage of whatever you say God did so I can see the whole story for myself.

  • @TheFETISHseeker

"is HE not allowed to do whatever he wants with his creation?"

So God is not bound by any Morals but yet cannot be near nor stand sin? WTF?

Would you not expect God to hold a higher moral standard than Man.

"You say you have scriptures. Lets see them."

What, you don't own a Bible?

What is it you want to know?

  • @Urfullobull I know this comment is old, but if I believe in a God who claims to be the creator of all things, is HE not allowed to do whatever he wants with his creation? You say you have scriptures. Lets see them.

  • @ProducerQuotes leaving christianity was one of the most painful things i've ever done too. But it was such a breath of fresh air once i stopped cowering in fear of God's wrath and stood up by myself for the first time!!

  • @ProducerQuotes - Stand strong. You've come a long way. I know a 53 year old man who just recently became and Atheist. And I told him "I felt like a fool, believing in all those stories when I was younger" and he replied "YOU?! I feel like a fool being in my late 40s and believing those tales!" I'm your age, so I understand the intense disappointment and feelings. But we still have a better chance now that Knowledge is not as oppressed as it used to be in another generation. Hail the internet xD

  • @pgpeachess I'm asking questions and you have your fingers in your ears going "La la la!" What are you afraid of?

See if the actual reason comes close. Raised as a Christian, sunday school every week, assembly every morning. At 9 my teacher mentioned God's name was Jehovah and he suddenly became the same as Thor, Vishnu, Bhudda and every other ancient mythical deity. Went downhill from there, so to speak.

I live my life as if there is no God and nothing has changed.

  • @MrWelsluth

I have long since then EDUCATED myself and now am an ATHEIST and no longer believe in Fairy tales.
